Thank you so much for having me. Absolutely. It's an honor. Listen, man. Crazy, crazy question. Yeah. Why in the world would you want Oh my God. Well, I'm the craziest kind of Answer that, I guess. Um, you know, I, I looked around, I didn't see myself represented. I see that a lot of us are, I attack, if you will. And you know, I, I never really saw myself running for public office. I'm actually, believe it or not, despite what people might see, I'm kind of a little bit of an introvert. Me too man. Well, there you go. So isn't it interesting? I don't think people understand Right. Introverts. Yeah. Uh, sorry to cut you off, but Sunday, they think I'm like that how you do it. I mean, I'm very camera shy and nervous when I get up there on stage. Yeah. Um, but I'll tell you, I mean, um, you know, when I actually a lot of it happened right around Covid and I think that was quite the eye opener for a lot of people. Um, one thing that really struck me was that I just saw a lot of good people and a lot of families just not being represented essentially under attack. Yeah. And it really scared me. It did. You know, when you're looking at, um, how our way of life was just totally interrupted, and I get it, that was a very interesting time, something that was a life changing event for everyone. Right? But when you saw the overreach of our government and, you know, I, I have this philosophy that the government stops at my doorstep, um, actually some of the people's houses who have knocked on it stops right at their driveway. They don't know who you are when you're walking up there, but I and I get that and I respect that, but it stops at my doorstep. Like, this is my home. This is this is my family. Um, I'm in charge of that. You know, me and my wife and, didn't see myself or people that neighbors being represented by little more to the story. I think we can get into that in inspired by, by, uh, a lost one. A friend of mine. Yeah. Um, but really, I mean, there's I'm willing to step up into the Yeah. Um, I, I believe that we have to in our government. Um, you know, the government can Uh, the power lies within the themselves in a manner of but I I'll do my part. Yeah. So, so let's go back to that because Everybody has their motives, their intentions, or their inspirations. Right. Uh, and you mentioned your Talk to me a little bit about Like, what was his role in you So my friend, um, that I'm He passed away in twenty twenty So that really got me going around me long enough to know Okay. I could be a little opinionated. Um, I'm always listening to I'm in the insurance industry twenty six years there and, um, you know, and then I formulate an opinion. I have my own, but you gotta when you're at work. Yeah. But my friend Justin, God rest Um, he was like a brother to me. He's the godfather of my him and I back in twenty. He passed in twenty twenty On August thirty first on And it was a very tough thing, I mean, for a lot of people, for I mean, he was very well known. And, you know, the story goes is went to a wake for a friend of And then we actually ended up at the six and Sevens downtown And, you know, and we were talking and, you know, just kind of just got going just talking about life. And of course, politics comes And then Justin had told me that maybe running for city council And I was like, wow, that would I mean, you're a great person. I mean, everybody loves you. He's like a big teddy bear. Yeah. I mean, you know, and, and I was man, I'm, I'm there with you. And, you know, and and if you know him, he kind of just turned to me and then I won't use the language exactly. But he kind of just looked at me He said, listen, you blowhard, years, you know, uh, what? Are you going to do something, Are you going to run for You have an opinion about this, And I looked at him and I know, I'll tell you what. If you run for office, I'll I'll I'll do something. I'll get in the public, you get in the arena. Yeah. And, um, we shook on it. Essentially. That's the promise though, right And, um him and I, you know, I mean, he passed away maybe about three weeks or so after that conversation. You know, he passed in his And that was, you know, really had like one of those like, of, you know, moments there the gravity of that conversation Um, I was actually working at my same place where I broke this, Um, that was in twenty twenty Yeah. And I just happened to just turn on the radio and I, and I heard that the eighth Bristol District seat was going to be an open seat that Representative Paul Schmid wasn't seeking reelection. And I just I was like, whoa, Like, that never happens in A lot of these politicians like Right. Unfortunately. Unfortunately. Yeah. You know, so they become career So, um, yeah, I mean, I, I just looked up and I laughed. I was like, you gotta be kidding Like that was like a sign. I mean, it doesn't happen. And it's right in my district. And again, these are things some change, right? So I thought about it and I I, you know, I called three people and I won't say it in any particular order. I called my wife, my father and another one who was, uh, you He passed away last November and he was very influential in the city. Heart of gold. Um, and I asked him, what do you And then they, they all let's roll with it. And you gotta have your blessings from your wife if you're going to get into politics. Absolutely. For anything. Yeah. No kidding. Um, but I'll tell you that, you It really is. And, um, you know, I mean, I, I checked with people, my loved ones and, you know, and I am very blessed to have their support, but that really got me going. Um, I, I, I think there was no Justin was forty when he passed. Life's so short, you know, I We we can't sit on the sidelines I mean, there, there are some bad things going on in, in blatant misrepresentation of of good people. Yeah. And there are more good people That is for sure. Yeah, absolutely. So what are what are some of the things that you're passionate about? Jesse. Like what, what's what's burning So as of lately, we had this, um, we had this questionable bill. Huh. Uh, what was it, eight, five, Basically just making it very Yeah. And I'm trying to word that as clean as I can because it's very disturbing. right? And I'll tell you that, you the, you know, basically making to get an abortion in. Mhm. Um, and I mean, we already had I do not see why that should for our legislature. And you put that on top of our We need to audit our We need transparency. And they slapped us in the face Over seventy two percent of us We wanted to know where our We wanted to make sure that our right ways for people that need So when they slap us in the face throw this other one out there Yeah, that's kind of lit a fire Yeah. Um, and I, and I, I see it with Yeah. You know, I just, I just want to obviously my heart breaks, uh, Mhm. Um, and my heart goes out to, who have been impacted by that I just want to acknowledge that there's a lot of feelings that A lot of people struggle with those things, right? Um, but I think that outside of where we're putting our energy of helping people have a better Yeah. So that we don't even have to have those conversations, but we're going to the extreme of things. You know, that to me, blows my Same here. I mean, these are people, again, in the eighth verse of the eighth Bristol District when I'm running for um, Representative Steve Wallet, he's voted one hundred percent of the time with the speaker of the House and the governor. So, I mean, there's no backbone And, you know, and, and again, I mean, I don't want to get in the gutter over here, but there's no backbone, and you have to stand on some sort of foundation in life. Right. And sometimes saying no is a I mean, you know, you can't I don't even agree with my wife Okay. But you can't agree with someone It's just it's not realistic. And, you know, and again, like extremely difficult situation And I respect that. Like, I, I, I understand that that could be a very difficult thing. But what are the priorities in We started everything here two There you go. The United States began here. Yeah. We have an obligation to our people to to stand up for what's right and and and have that fortitude. Yeah. We're leading the way now in essentially terminate a life. Right. Um, that's what we want to lead Yeah. Right. You know. Yeah. We're also number one in people Well, again, there's a domino With all these things begin to the question that you gotta ask What truly matters, right? If if an innocent life is not that important, what else is important? Like what else actually matters? Are we going to push the Exactly. It's going to I mean, it's already off the table in my book. Absolutely. I mean, you know, all the wrong Yeah. And, you know, just from a political standpoint, you have a supermajority. And I listen, I, I know I have Democrats, independents and Republicans that have supported me. So this isn't this isn't a I'm not going to allow anybody to, you know, to divide me on that. Right. Everyone has a seat at my table. Yes. I'm running as a Republican We need to restore balance. Yeah. I'm very proud to be a Republican candidate, very proud to be an American and a human being. Right. And, and somebody that, you some morals here. I'm, I'm gonna do the right I'm not going to fold like these Yeah. Um, we need that. And am I the answer? Well, I'm just going to be part There you go. I think more people will, inspired to step up because I You need some help? We all do. Absolutely. You know, when you say that, my Right. How do we get here? Well, we got here because we We stopped caring. Right. We stopped getting involved. Yep. And then you leave a major gap And here we are. Right. So? So how do we get people, man, to care enough to want to get in the game? I'll tell you. Um, part of my journey again, because I ran two years ago. Yeah. And I haven't given up. Yeah. But, um, you know, there was, You inspired the heck out of me too, as if I, I didn't need that sign in February of twenty twenty four. And then I think I pulled out Yeah, it was March sixth. That's my dad's birthday. I pulled out papers on that day, and I actually waited an extra day just to kind of say, hey, dad. Here's a present, right? But, um, when I was in church and I remember that sermon and you had the sword and all that, and I was like, wow, that was intense. That was awesome. But, um, rule your garden. Yeah. That means everything to me as a What is my purpose? What am I doing if I can't Yeah. And, you know, I'll tell you, And, you know, my wife's always an empty glass. Right. And, you know. Yeah, I burn the candle at both So that's a whole nother thing. But yeah, you cannot pour from You have to have some sort of I'm not perfect by any means. Um, but I, I'll tell you, I Yeah. And I learn a lot from people by And that day in church, that really kind of gave me just what I needed. It really didn't. I? Thank you for that because my journey I. It's scary to jump in. Yeah, it is to put yourself out That's very it's it's very Yeah. And especially when people try So that way they can get votes. Absolutely. I mean, again, I, I will be the first one to say I am not perfect. Yeah. I believe that people in general Absolutely. So that's it. That's it. Um, I try to be better every Um, but how do you get people to step up and get out of that comfort zone? Yeah. You got to start somewhere and Maybe it starts in your Bible. Maybe it starts because you've low point in your life. Mhm. Um, actually, Pastor Doobie, I remember him talking about his journey. Yep. He's a great person right out Yep. Um, you know, I, I, I'm very honored to even have his support, but I'll tell you just his story. And when you fall to the bottom, that's when you learn, when you surrender yourself. I remember him saying that. And you know, I think that we can all soul search a little and know that we know what that looks like. Yeah. Failure sometimes is actually That is that is the purpose that Preach, brother. Oh, I had a long way to go. So good, so good. So, look, let's talk practically think people get disconnected. Right? Practically speaking, why does happening around us? Because I think people don't have that connecting point of understanding. Like, yeah, this is up there. But it's like, no, they're That's right. When you talk about that, that's a, that's a really good question because a lot of people don't even know. Right. Um, so in my opinion, and no offense to any state reps if they're listening out there, but a state representative position is, you know, y'all like the on the ground? Yeah. Like and and I mean that in a Um, I respect the select boards, the city councilors, they don't really get paid a lot for what they do. And that's really a full time Yeah. Um, I know that, you know, the put a ton of work in. They had about five thousand And I hope that doesn't dissuade anybody from seeking public office, but don't do it for the money. Right. Um, but state representative is. That's it. I'm your liaison to the state Um, a state representative important because what we would So if you want a bill passed. Yeah. You would basically just request that with your state representative. And then they put it forward, you know, in the House of Representatives and it goes through there, goes to the Senate, you know, hopefully to the governor's office becomes a law, right? Yeah. Um, you know, there's other, you know, technicalities in between and all that with review and all that. But, but essentially I'm your I'm in your community. Um, now some state career out of it. You don't see them anymore. And that's probably to your point, why a lot of people don't understand what they do, because a lot of these guys, they kind of stink. They're not doing their job. Yeah, they got elected. They sold you a bill of goods, they play games. And then, you know, a state important position in my book. And people have asked me, well, you know, started, you know, at I'm like, I am, yeah, I am, I am called to do right now. Yeah. And I believe that if we set the guardrails for life. Yeah. At least they can play a part in You still need your morals you stand on, but at least some protective guardrails. And again, just to, not to beat remove those guardrails with Absolutely. And that's what we are in society is we're essentially you need laws. You do you need to abide by some If you look back, they were They did. So what is it? The the forefathers monument out I went on a crew. Yep. With Glenn. Yeah. That was amazing. Yeah. And, you know, I mean, if anybody hasn't visited that and it's interesting because, you know, not a lot of school field trips bring you there and they should. Well, because they're not really I was so inspired. Right. So and I had never been there. Yeah. Shame on me. I've been, you know, Plymouth, you know, the little rock, Plymouth Rock, the pebble over there. But what about that monument? I mean that right there. If you if one of our if our take the time and look around the law right themselves. Right. And I, I, I think a lot of Yeah. Because there is some code that you have to abide by there too, right? When you go this way only one Do it right, right. And, and in that vein, right of helping people connect the dots, right? Mhm. Talk about how exactly is what affecting people right now in they're not even understanding. I think some people don't make So. Um, well, if, if nobody I'll tell you what he has the easiest way. Look at your utility bills. You go. All right. Yeah. See? Yeah, that's exactly what I You want to talk about that? All right, let's go. I have a plan to save you money. Yeah. Actually, affordability is anyway, that I. That's what I've So that's where I want you to Yeah. Alright. Alright. I'm going to preach now. Okay. If I stop wandering off, smack me around and get me back in track. Right. But um, but no, I mean, uh, I I sound like Liam Neeson right Right? I will find you. This is taken for the state I'm taking the state house. Um, no. Uh, so anyway, but I do, real world, right? And, and I mean that towards Right. Um, in the insurance business, I automobile, you know, and saving And then I deal with the guy that owns all the commercial property. Yeah, it's I'm all over the Right. Um, but, you know, saving somebody about even just two hundred dollars a month goes a long way. And I can see it for years. And it's a very rewarding thing. I love, like helping people out. Honest to God, I never thought I'd be an insurance agent either. It's not exactly the most and says, I want to. I want to be an insurance agent. You know, humility is something need a little bit of humility. And I think that business taught And, uh, uh, but anyway, um, but, you know, when you look at your utility bills and, and that affordability, so you'll hear a lot of people and you're gonna, and a lot of people are going to be hearing your governor candidates, including, uh, Healy, Governor Healy, and, you know, their state rep candidates, Senate candidates, whatever affordability, affordability, accountability, transparency. Buzzword. Buzzword. buzzword. Yeah. Yeah. Some understand it and some I go out, I knock about, I mean, hundred and fifty dollars a day? I met thousands of people. I'm always hitting the ground. I'd say hitting the ground, running, but I'm a little broken right now. I broke my fibula, you know? But I'm hobbling around, you And and it's fine. Um, but affordability isn't just It's it's it's my way of life. That's how I am able to put food on the table is by making life more affordable for people and protecting their most valuable assets. Assets. That's what I do. Um, it gave me a really good struggles, other people's goals. And, you know, and again, when and that's what I am is just a Um, you listen to people. Yeah. And, you know, our state uh, essentially giving us an audit is important is because we dollars are going because we're roads falling apart, our our teachers getting fired. I mean, a lot of pink slips been Um, utility bills, I'll tell you this, this one person, um, you know, out in Westport, she comes to mind. I think she was about seventy And you know her story. It's sad. I mean, this woman's back in the She can't retire. Mhm. That's affordability to me. That's not a word on a palm Like some of these these guys, of her when I'm when I'm out I, I, you know, I mean, she's food on the table, keeping her has her insulin. Um, is that progress? You know, I mean, where are we Yeah. And, you know, the lady out in, Her, her house, uh, she could I mean, I don't mean this in, on her, but a lunch lady, and you know, she can't afford And the reason why the audit is so important is because we're not getting our fair share of local aid to our cities and towns. And when the cities and towns you and me and that lady and the them and they say, all right, Now your property tax is going this and we gotta fund that. And, you know, and it's not the select board of city councillors fault. I mean they're in a tough spot. They only get so much money And they have to balance a And you see these greedy Yeah. Just with their little pet And it's like, what are you doing for this study and that study? And, you know, it's like, what Like, there are problems that Now Just let me go back because the utility bill. This is what I want you to talk All right. So but but as far as the utility twenty fifty energy mandate. Essentially what that is, is that's all baked into your utility bill. So when when we're all reading those, I wish I, you know, I usually have one on me, I read it, I kind of wish I would have brought that. But when you look at delivery God, if I charge people to be my business, boy, I don't know what business very fast. Right. Um, but you look at all these baked into your bill. Yeah. You're paying for the green is not funded. It's paid by you. So if they're going to mandate on electric by twenty fifty, heat my home with oil no more. That can't happen. Yeah. Um, they're getting rid of I mean, why can't we just have Why do you have to mandate me and to play in that way, if you want to set it as a goal, that's fine. I'm okay with the goal. Yeah, but don't put that on the and that's what they're doing. And again, my current state rep, Wallet, um he supported measures So these people have a very, And they are, you know, they're in the cover of night essentially, right? Because we're not paying attention and it's not interesting stuff. But when you know, and, you people's defense, you know, the working their butts off, right? Just barely hanging on, they're they're burnt the heck out. Right. And, and that's exactly by They want to distract you. Yeah. Actually, I remember you Go ahead. Distract. Right. That's it. I mean, you know, diversion. Yeah. you know that. To me, that's all part of this this, this big campaign basically, you know, we're we're fed propaganda all day, every day. You know, as long as we can distract you, we don't have to focus on the real issues that's going on. That's why, again, I wanted to because I think people are not is how it's impacting you. Your property taxes are paying Yeah. Even for ideologies that you totally don't agree with, you And again, back to that, that Yeah. Um, I don't agree with it. Yeah. And I have to pay for it. Right. We have to pay for these things. A lot of these things are going to be funded by the taxpayers and yeah. And you know, that's why it's very important to for people to step up. Yeah. So so all your men and women out It's time. It is go time. Like, you know, my mom used to teach catechism, and we were talking about this the other day. That's the funniest story. That's a good one. Um, and she kind of scared the Um, but, you know, with, uh, Huh? Yeah. Left behind. I used to wake up as a little I used to wake up as a little sure she was still there. I would have left behind, you When she hears this, she's gonna I'm so sorry. You know? But, you know, but she she had The eighties was a wild time. Eighties. That will preach right there. It was wild, right? It it was a wild time. Thank God to all you kids that Right? We're doing you a favor. We're gonna teach you about it, and we're gonna make sure it never happens. You know, it's funny to hear These kids talk about being What the heck? What are you talking about? I have no clue. You have no idea. Watch the rapture when you're, They come cry at me, right? I don't want to hear it, but oh But she taught catechism. Um, became a born again in actually in the early days of Yeah, I remember going to the outings all the way out in Rhode Island. And, you know, and, you know, I have to step up and, and you moral compass built into you. Yeah. I'm very grateful for my family. I, I'm blessed to have both my And, um, you know, they've been and instilled some values in me. Yeah. And, you know, taught me the ways and, you know, and, and I think it is very important to, you know, have that moral compass. Absolutely. And and it starts at home. Yeah. What's it like? Right. What's it like being out there trying to get people's attention? Walk us through a day out there Do you think the eighties is Uh. So no. All right. So it is by far. And again, I don't I don't want here, but it is going to be one you'll ever do in life when you. When I pull up. Okay. So. Average day in Jesse's life. Yeah. Okay. So I get up. It's usually emails, you know, Um, trying to get ahead of my So. Yeah. Um, get ahead of that. Go into the office usually for Um, and then it's, you know, just try to again patch up some things. I have obligations with clients. Yeah. Um, and then it's okay. Let's, uh, let's, here's, here's district, uh, that's Westport, and New Bedford. And then you have a little bit of like that Flint area or fall River. Okay. So it's, um, what's called the And gerrymandering essentially is, um, the, the state legislature draws maps and the maps. And again, they have a reason, a they want fair representation. Yeah. Some will argue that they're of the supermajority, um, which So I am in a very conservative And, um, you know, so anyway, look at that map. Okay, we're going to go to Are we going to go to Westport Um, like I was just actually fall River, um, finishing off Later on today. I'll be out in Westport. So, you know, and then you go and, um, I have my coordinates that send me right to your street. And I go and I get out of the truck, walk up, knock on your door. And that's where the awkwardness It does go away. I can assure you all out there It will get comfortable. It's very crazy, but it's fine. It will be fine. Then people open the door and And then you just got to get And I'm past that now. Um, you know, do you have to, like, preface a I'm not Jehovah Witnesses. I'm not. So so it's interesting. There are two things that I. I selling them religion. I am a Jehovah's Witness. Um, or I'm a solar salesman. Uh, that was a big one. And I, I usually, you know, so you know, and um, at first. Oh no, no, I'm sorry, you know, No, it's like I'm not selling I'm selling you democracy and it's free, you know, and, uh, you know, so I'll, I'll hit him with that, charm him a little bit, you know, maybe get him to laugh. But, um, no, it is a very It's you got to come out of your I'm, I'm, I like to kind of be So and like, and it's a very And there are days I am I mean, I'm out all day. Um, when you're out there. Yeah. I'm not with my family a lot. Sometimes we'll go out together, what I mean? Like, it's not fun for kids to Um, they, they, they actually They think that I'm like really it's kind of cool right now. I hope I win this election, but goes away, you know, there'll be But, um, but no, that that's a And then, you know, after knocking doors, I mean, you're going out maybe to a different event and they're long days and you know, all right, let's do this. You just knocked on my door. Yeah. Yeah. Right. What what's the first thing I'm Oh my God, I'm sorry to bother probably gonna be barking or I'm really sorry to bother you. Hi. I'm Jesse, I'm running for I just came by to say hello and Um, I'm in the area. I'll usually give him my palm card, so he has a little bit about me. Um, but is there one thing that One thing that I can do to help representative can actually do A lot of times I'll get good Um, sometimes I'm like, geez, man, you just caught me off guard. Yeah, I was taking a nap, you Um, so, you know, uh, so it's awkward, but yeah, I believe in knocking on these doors. It is so important for many One, as a person that will hopefully be their representative. Yeah. I will never know how to help them if I don't know how to help them. Right? If they're not telling me, yeah, I don't have all the answers, right? I have my opinions. Of course I do. I have, I have my moral ground But, um, that I'm serving them. That's why I'm going out there It's helping me get smarter and Right. Um, that it's like reading a You can't tell me what's in the Right. And so I don't know what my I, I can tell you as a Yeah, but I might not be the Right. And a state representative has first and as best they can. Yeah. And you know, so, so that's So that's one thing. Um, you know, the other thing, you know, again, actually in the insurance business, my father taught me this in the very beginning. He said, you know, Jess, the salesman is the best listener. So, you know, you can't do your Right. Um, but no, but the other thing too is when you're in front of these people, that's giving them hope. The just the image of you there. Yeah. Coming out of nowhere, right? Yeah. Maybe it's awkward, but they'll It's it's actually pretty sad how many times that people are like, I've never met my state rep. Mhm. I don't even know who the heck And what are you doing here? Like, you know, you're crazy, Yeah. Um, I actually, I got a quick So I sent out a mass text message because again, there's about, there's, there's quite a bit of people that I have to meet. Yeah, there's what about maybe something like that. That's that's how many is in Yeah, it's quite a bit. And um, you know, so I said, I, I try to utilize, um, well, I do utilize my social media, like my Facebook page. Jesse for our state Jesse Saint-gelais for state Um, I utilize, you know, just my Um, and then, you know, just door to door and then radio and then mailers. And then now I'm actually on TV So I got, I got a commercial So it's, uh, you know, if you I'm sorry to bother you. Let's go. It's better than me knocking on You know, while you're watching so, you know, I, I try to So here's a good one, right? This is, uh, maybe about two or Uh, it was actually pretty So we sent out a mass text audience of primary voters. Right. And, um, we sent out a decent I got one negative response and name I won't bring up because Uh, he said spam text. You lost a vote, right? I was like, dang, man, you Come on. You know. So my consultant was like, yeah. He's like, hey, you know, He's like, look at this one. I said, oh yeah, what's that Where does he live? He's like, what do you mean? I said, I want to go see him. I'm gonna knock on his door. I said, he doesn't know who I I'm not trying to bother I'm trying to help. I'm trying to help. This is not ideally where I saw Yeah, I have to help, I have to. And so I went out and, um, all And that's that's all I'll give But yeah, I went out there and, his door, knocked on his door. He wasn't home. So now I had my palm card and I, And I tend to write people a personal note if they're not home. Um, and I wrote him a note just saying, basically apologizing to him. I said, I'm really sorry. I said, you know, I, I said, I I'm a little slower at getting Um, you know, but I'm utilizing every tool at my disposal to reach you because this is so important. Yeah. The stakes are way too high for, like, the wrong person to get elected, and that's why I'm doing it. Um, so as I just finished that around and there he is at the Let me tell you right now, I'm Okay. Um, this guy was a pretty big was, like, the most red meat your life, right? Tattoos, cowboy hat, big burly Pick up truck. I'm like, oh, did you have a red Right, man? Yeah, yeah. With those red hats. Right. Uh, you know, and I look and I'm like, oh, boy, you're in for it, pal. You're gonna, I don't know, this You're on his doorstep. So yeah, it could be a full Right. Um, but I sat there and I, and I looked and I said, are you so and so? And he just looked at me, gave me a nod, and I was like, oh, okay. So I waited there. And, um, and he didn't, he looked at me and didn't say anything. And he kept backing up. And then as he's halfway into where he backed up, he goes, are you Jess? Oh, me. Jess. You know, I said, yeah, I am, Hey, Ned Flanders over here. All happy. Hi. Hi Lee ho. Right. And, uh, so I go over there and know, and, um, and I and I I said, listen, I'm really sorry I said, I just came by to hand I just want to apologize, you know, and, and he's like, listen, man, he goes, you gotta be crazy. He's like, what the hell are you I said, I'm, I'm saying this is I have to be here. Yeah. I said, look, I said, I just, I the text thing. I get it, they could be annoying calls do you get a day? Trying to say you applied for a Yeah, it didn't apply for I get have to utilize every tool. And that's what I was And you know, after him kind, he know, just kind of gave me a um, no, but it was good. And he goes, you know something? He's like, get out of here. He's like, you're crazy enough And you know, he's like, listen, responses did you get back? I'm just curious because it's an Yeah, right. I said, actually, believe it or not, pal, I said, you should play the lottery tonight because you were the only one, the only negative one. And I said, and that's why I'm And thank God, because I, you know, I don't want to be going out all day on a, on the apology tour either. But, um, and he goes, you know Get out of here. He's like, you're crazy enough He's like, you got my vote. He's like, no, get out of here Go knock some more doors. And he's like, do you really Do you really think a Republican And I said, absolutely, sir. I said, I'll tell you why. Because I'm doing this. Yeah. This is how you win. You go out to people, you show Yeah. And and you say, I'm here to help and I. That's a great story, bro. Yeah. It's it's, uh, it was wild. It was a little nervous, but the if you're like, by the way, message for me? You know, that is that is not Come on, man, that would be I needed to give him a moment to I love that. But but but I like that Let's talk about that question. Do you think we can win? Absolutely. And when I say we the people, Like you said earlier, I love what you said earlier where it's not about the party, it's about the people. Yeah. Do you like because there's so But like, do you do you have Jesse. I do, I do, I wouldn't be here Yeah. Um, again, I, this is, this is I can't even believe I'm here on Um, and I, I do have a Um, if people step up. Listen, I'm out there and Yeah, and there are more of us Even though there is a growing I see the apathy. I hear it like, I can't believe never met my rep and this guy. Do you really think we can win? You know, because they have broken us down so much and they not. Meaning all the Democrats are bad because I'm sure there's some good. Listen, I believe there's good Yeah. Um, it's whether or not people to stand up for what's right. Sometimes it's hard to go Yeah. And it's hard to kind of get Right? That's what I'm doing. Yeah. I'm out of my comfort zone. I'm doing it. And I have a tremendous amount We can turn this around. And it's not just a Republican I am I, I am running to restore I will work with Democrats and I want results. We need results now. Yeah. people are getting swallowed up. And I'll tell you, Maura Healey has done a terrible job, terrible job. People even within her party are So I, I really think we get a very good shot at one of our Republican gubernatorial candidates defeating Maura Healey. I do. Yeah, I've met them both. I think they're both good men. Uh, yeah. Both military men, too. Right. And, you know, they they, um, they stand on, on, uh, you know, a ground of morals and so we can change it. The only way we're going to change it, though, is people have to come out and they have to vote. That's the thing. You get low percentage turnouts Yeah. Stop being asleep at the switch, Right. Like, you know, we cannot afford quarterback in life. You have to be ahead of it. Yeah. I've always been more of a proactive guy rather than a reactive reactive being reactive. Yeah, you have to be. But don't go through life just waiting for the bad thing to happen. And then, oh man, that's Yeah. Well, let me go and fix that. It's too late. Yeah, it's too late. Tell that to that unborn child that didn't even get a shot, right? Tell that to them. Absolutely. You know, so, I mean, the stakes Yeah. It's time for people to mount and vote for people. Yeah. Vote for the candidate, though. Vote for the person. My slogan, you know, two years It's still on my signs. Two people over party. Mhm. Um, now I am running as a Republican, but people over party. Yeah. I am not here to toe the line of I am here to hold the line for Yeah. That's who I'm running for. You. And you don't hear that enough And it's not BS. Yeah. This is real. Right. Um, again, I'm exhausted every And you know what? I have strength though, somehow, Yeah. It's because of my hope. It's because my belief that I I know I can. I'll be one guy up there. Yeah. But I'll be your guy. Yeah. You know, and I'll tell you something and be a one term bend the knee to that other So we need more people to step And we've been seeing it though. Yeah, I've been seeing people boards, school committees. There are good people now that Yeah. So it is happening. You know, one of the things that I mean, I focus so much on is the fact that I'm a pastor, right? Mhm. So our main audience is faith Mhm. But there's been this between faith and politics. Right. You mentioned the fact that as a realize how much our nation is You can't really have one The whole separation, just the It wasn't even what they had in But we've made it, you know, it church than anything else You know, that was the point. But how do you, um, speaking specifically to that audience, right. The audience, right. Who has lost their trust, right. And feel like we don't want them because it's divisive and all of that stuff. Right? Yeah. But how, what would you say to people that don't want to come it does is divide people. It's not doing anything. Well, that's exactly what the Yeah. And, you know, and that's the only way I can really sum that up. That's exactly what they want. United we stand. Divided we fall. Right. We all heard that before, right. And, um, you know, again, you Yeah. Houses has to have a strong And then it's what's in that Yeah, a home. And, you know, church is that It's where they, you know, have It's where they can gather their It's where they can move on in I mean, it's, it's a very, very come to church. Yeah. Now I, I do understand and to get in politics. It's ugly. It's ugly. I just released a video today following me around with I mean, you following my family Yeah. What are you doing? You know, yes, it can get ugly, I have the honor on. You can't hurt me. And that's what we need to We need to believe that. So if you go on to church and if know, and you have that let this sway you out of it. Yeah. Know that you're okay. I'm fine. Nobody can hurt me. Right. That's it. I'm not going to let them. And neither will God. Right. And you know, and I'll tell you, it's, it's it's a, it's a challenge. And it's a, it's a big What are we living for? What is your purpose? Why are you even going to What are we. We could talk about all these bad things and evil and good and all that. Get out there and do something Right. Help! You know, I think I said this I mean, you know, it's kind of a even just holding a door for It shows them that hope. Right. They've lost it. They might have been in a very And then they said, you know, wow, somebody just held the door for me. Yeah. I smiled at me and said, hello. Like these little acts of kindness, they will snowball into like, what we should be and what God intended for us in society. Absolutely. Um, you have to look out for I mean, if you're if you're not willing to do that, what are we living for? Yeah. So again, I, I, I understand that people don't want to ruffle feathers, right? It's go time. Yeah. We have come too far. That envelope has been pushed It is on the floor and they're And you know, you have to rule Yeah. as a husband and a wife and as Yeah. Yeah. You have to contribute in, like, You got to plant the right seeds planting them in your yard. You've got to plant them in Yeah. And, and that that's our job. And, you know, and, and yeah, I people might not want to even because they're worried about do because it can get ugly. But fear is the biggest liar in Yeah. And you know what? Don't let that take over. Yeah. Just support that person. If that person is sticking their Listen, I, I, you know, I, I've had moments of feeling alone out there, you know, when I was just in the nomination period, I'm out there. I mean, I'm out in the pouring I'm just I'm going up to people's houses asking them to sign something that was even worse. So even before you get there on to sign something. They think you're scamming them. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, So, you know, and it's a, it's a document provided by the state, you know, so they can see everything. But I mean, that's tough, right? You're asking somebody to they first met you a signature of, um, a lot of hard work that trust this process in life that we're all part of here. Yeah. And if you just, you know, you that apathy will grow. Yeah, it will grow. That's why you don't see people in the private sector or, um, you know, just regular good people. You don't see a lot of them step Yeah. Say what you want about you right now, that man stepped And you know something? Hey, he might not be the the easiest pill to swallow at times. Okay? He's not a perfect person, but he was perfectly and perfect for our country at the time when we needed him. Absolutely. Again, I think that's the thing, There's no perfect people, You, you, you, you go through scriptures, all you see is broken people. Yeah. Right. And that's all that's available. Right. And, and again, I say, you don't You just have to have morals. We have to have values, right? Because at the end of the day, do absolutely nothing. I think that's one of our one of All you have to do for evil to thrive is for the good people to sit back and do nothing and do nothing. And I think what's come down to I mean, I'm gonna talk about this is a war of worldviews. Mhm. You know, everybody has a No one has a clean slate. No one's making decisions from Right? Yeah. They're making decisions on a uh, law that just passed that It doesn't come from nowhere. Right? So if your worldview says we're a bunch of clump of cells, right? We don't have a creator. Yeah, right. Then what happens? You become your own creator. And when you become your kinds of moves to say, hey, we And when you begin to pull back realize, wow, this is as old as, Why? Why does that come from? It comes from the fact that there was an enemy who came and said, hey, did God really say that? In other words, let's question the creator what he actually said. But you could do better than So these things don't come out They don't come in a vacuum. And I'm not saying, again, I I'm not saying everybody's evil, a a vessel for good, then you For the enemy to use. Absolutely. They they, they prey on Yeah. And, and that's it. So if you leave yourself open going to pour salt on it. They're going to press on it. Yeah. They know where to attack. Yeah. And you know, you gotta, you here in life, right? So yeah, you hit the nail on the I mean, absolutely one hundred Yeah. And that's why I wanted to have That's why we're going to have a You know, we're going to invite everyone who's running no matter what party they're from, because the purpose of the forum is to say, tell us about why are you running? Well, and, and that's what And you know, and again, you can at your state legislature. And again, it's very difficult voted on to. Yeah. By design. Yeah. I, I believe anyway. Um, it's not user friendly. Yes. These people, some of these How fun is that? Right? I mean, it's great for them, but where is their, their, their base. Right. Like you just said, I mean, I mean, you have a lot of I call Yeah. And, and, and they're in Yeah. They're in positions of saying Covid, you kids had to stay in a classroom, because you know why to give them a C, you know, some BS pet project, you know, know, our vote so we can be And they don't care. Some of them, you know, and, and So, you know, you can't go through life making up the rules, right? There's rules, right? There's a code to abide by. And, you know, yeah, it starts with religion, I believe it does. And, you know, and I'll tell you, I mean, you have to be willing to make a change, make a positive change, step outside of the comfort zone, go against the grain. Yeah. You have to. It's a very rewarding experience to go down that road less traveled because, you know, at the end of that road, that light is at the end of the tunnel, right? And, you know, I, you know, I've said it before, you know, and I'll say it again to my competitor out there, competitors, if you will, or whatever. I mean, I'm running against I'm trying to just be better than what I was two years ago, because I know I'm the right candidate. I'm not running against anybody. But, you know, and I've I've Attack me all you want. I got my armor on. It's good. Yeah. Don't worry about it. I'm not worried about it. You can't hurt me. I know what my goal is, I see I do not take my eye off the I want to get there and help out So I'm not going to move the We need to establish some more Absolutely. And, you know, make sure that know, people can grow and Yep. And it is a spiritual thing. Here's why it's a spiritual enemy who questioned what God Did God really say that? Right? Because everything that we're struggling right now comes from the literally the first page in the Bible. They're like, who created us? Right? And if he created us, then he has a purpose for what he created, right? He created male, he created Instead of us celebrating these where we're dividing over these things, and we're trying to create our own version of these things. Oh, it's crazy, right? And what is leading us to. Right. There's two things sacred, In the first page of the Bible, God created you. Male and female. Mhm. Right. And you have a culture, right? So? So your race is sacred, right? Because God gave it to you. Yeah. Right. And here we are divided over And we create things like Dei All the things that now says no, that God created and let's And that's why we're in this We're in this mess because we We want to be our own creator. We're living in the land of Yeah. What was that Genesis song? Yeah. By the band Genesis. Wow. Interesting, huh? Whoa! Yeah. Um. It's the land of confusion. Uh, you know, and, uh. Yeah, we need to start looking How about that? Actually, that's my. My wife wants me to have that as one of my campaign songs, you know? But it's true. You know, look at yourself. Like, where are we going from Yeah. You can't just rewrite that. There is man and there is woman. Yeah. Come on. Yeah! Come on. You cannot tell me. There is. There's something else. One of the things that's crazy again, the the latest abortion It's like, okay, the argument is The argument is, is, uh, if the or the baby's in danger, right? We want them to make that decision and that choice and rightly so. Right. Yeah. But the reality is, is when you go look and you do your research, you find out those are very, very small percentages of time. And even in those moments, That's right. Right. With the right ObGyn and the actually make choices and have to get to that place. But if it doesn't get to that plead for life, right? But if if that is the heart of a Why are we celebrating that? Because there was a the To me, it would have been like we we're sombering passing this law because our heart break that people have to make this decision. So so to me that that says a It's like, wait, the the to me, heart is breaking because I'm because we have to, because lives are at stake. We wouldn't be celebrating it. We would be somber signing that That's that's what it's like. How could you smile signing Yes. That's my I guess that's really what it comes down to in the judge's point. In a common sense. Yeah. In common sense is derived from It's it's who you are and you. And there's a lack of common bankrupt people out there. Now, again, that is a very We already have parameters put It didn't need to if it wasn't Right. And you know, I mean, protections, but now we can go to the physician. Yeah. So Doctor Fauci is going to play Is that telling me you know I'll give you the high priest of science. You know I mean these people, Yeah. In the statehouse and behind Right. Yeah. But they don't have enough mirror and do what's right. It's a God complex. There's no other way to explain this, but there's a God complex that comes upon these people again. Did God really say that? No. We know better. Yeah, right. And we're going to keep pushing like after that, my question is Well, it's again, it's So so at the very least, right. I, I just say this right here, the affordability in this. That was more of a priority. Yeah. That was top of your list was to I mean, let's just call it like I mean, it's, um. Come on man. My my cousin just had her baby two days ago, and, um, you know what? Little Stella's in the world Yeah, and that's a great thing. It's not a bad thing. Why shouldn't we celebrate life? Yeah. I don't want to sensationalize somebody having to be faced with that choice, that difficult decision. Right? Yes. When we already had it, what was Twenty four weeks, right? Right. The way the twenty four weeks. Yeah. And now we're going to celebrate We can. I mean, it's brutal. It is brutal. There was an article I read the there's a one of these, uh, lead And, you know, she was totally She's like, this is actually dangerous for the, for the person who they performing the procedure on to in the dismemberment tactics. There's a heartbeat. These kids feel pain. What are we doing? I'm sorry to paint like an ugly, We need to. Because I don't think people removed from this stuff. And I really think about what is Right. Which again, this Sunday I'm to I want to even allow a doctor performed twelve hundred it at all because of the impact And it's like, you have to a human being, right? And how in your conscience are you able to live with that reality? And how are you able to applaud Right? That's the thing. Again, that's disgusting. That blows my mind. And on top of it, right. And then the other thing we gotta look at again, follow the money. Mhm. Right. Last time I checked what they're making ten thousand dollars per abortion. Mhm. Right. Grandma always told me money Yeah, I censored myself. Yeah, but but but but but it's Yeah. That's it. Follow the money. Yeah. Money is the root of all evil. Yes, and the love of money is That's right, that's right. You know, money is a great It's a terrible God. I always say this. There you go. It's a great resource, but it's When, when when it starts to the point that you don't even have to you have to call the justify yourself, when the money Yeah. Instead of you making the money, That's kind of the way I always And yeah, I mean, it's, um, it's unfortunate, but if you follow the money, that's why this was a priority. Yeah. That's it. It's not a priority. It makes no sense. It's not a priority when people I have I can't I've ran out of fingers to count how many friends I've lost to drug addiction. Yeah. All right. People very close to me have And you have, um, like the is, is another, um, you know, And you know, that right there, where the problem is rather than Essentially just to kind of sum But, um, no, I mean, what are Shouldn't that be a priority? That's life. That's life. I would like so many lives to be My heart breaks when you say the families, I've seen the It's like, man, that's. Shouldn't that energy be on that Beyond that, it's there. But it's like, no, let's find Yeah, basically that's what that Um, and shame in shame on, I guess, um, people not really thinking about these serious issues. Yeah. Drugs and abortion. Right. Um, until it happens to you, Until you've seen it. Like when I, when I had buzzwords, until you've spoken affordability and their You don't understand it until it, I have. Yeah. And, you know, and that's what will make me a good representative. That's what makes me look at Yeah. And we all have to challenge Yeah. You have to start looking into This isn't just a headline something you read about or saw know, distraction they put in This is real. Like people are dying. People that are totally innocent Yeah. Okay. They didn't even have a shot at making this world a better place. There are people that have been infected with this drug addiction that are that are looking for help, and we're not there as a government to support them. Yeah. Um, there are people that are warm in the winter, right? And, you know, maybe too proud to ask for help because that's just human. Right. And, but yet we need to make sure that we make things easier on them. Take some of that stress away Do your damn job when you're Take the stress away. people need to wake up. They got to realize that these representatives aren't representing them. Yeah. And your government, um, you don't pray to your government, right? You pray to your God, right? The answers are all there. You know it. It's in you. God's in every single one of us. Yeah. You know, when something's Yeah. And come on, you gotta see. I mean, these these headlines We're becoming desensitized. Well that's up. We are desensitized again. That's why the distractions and because you distract the public these these nonsense laws. Yeah. Um, because again, everybody's worldview that's shaping these Mhm. That's why my prayer is that we have enough people who have either they have this understanding of Christianity, or they at least have the common sense, right? Like Trump. Right. I don't think Trump is a But man, the man has common Yeah. And I appreciate the common That's it. I mean, I, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm a little, you know, bummed over the war. Yeah. That's a whole nother Yeah. But I mean, but but majority of makes common sense, right? And it's like, what happened to Okay. If you don't want to talk religion, but where's the common sense? That's it. Right? But it's hard to have common Well, there you go. Pour from the empty glass. Right. You can't do it. So you gotta you gotta have some sort of, um, something to base it on. You can't just, like, wake up thinking that you just boom, you just became. That's it. I'm like, okay, that's it. All right. Oh, there's no God. Oh, yeah. Okay. You just that little particle. Right? All right. Okay. All right, buddy, who put the Right. You know, I mean, come on. You know, so it just doesn't It has to be a you know, you just reminded me of even Bill Burr, right. Had a bit on abortion, right. And he was like, hey, I'm I'm People started clapping. You are you clapping too early? Yeah. But he said, he said if he said, If I'm making a cake. Right. And I put all the ingredients you decide to come in and take on the ground. Was it going to be a cake? It was going to be a cake until Yeah, I'm like, even Bill Burr, See, he gets it. But see that those are the tools He's he's got common sense. He's delivering it in a way that Right. And, um, you know, President around, um, when people would knock on somebody's door, you Like sometimes they don't even All right. Who are you supporting for? This was like, yeah, last time Who are you supporting for You know, I'm like, all right, I You see Harris uh, Trump behind No, it's me, it's just me. I'm the only one here. I want to help you. I want to be your state rep. Right. Yeah. So, um, but I would tell him, kicked off of a couple porches. Uh, not gonna lie. One one in Freetown in And that was a very, very I older, two older people. And, um, and I said they're the only ones who showed up to the no kings. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well I told these two, these two all right, if that's what you're going to tell you how this is I'm going to tell you who I'm then you're going to tell me to So I said, okay, I did. Sure enough, I was on that porch And I told him though, I said, Trump might be like Robitussin. It might, you might taste not too good, but he gets rid of the cough. Okay, so sometimes it's not. And again, that's not the easy Sometimes you have to go and And yeah, he's not all the Listen, I know he's not perfect, But you know, people got to be what they stand for, right? And just listen to them. I'm not going to be a perfect person even when I'm elected, right. But I'm gonna. But God, I mean, you're gonna what I stand for. Well, that's it right there. I think that's the that's the You're not going to get a perfect candidate, but can they check the boxes of the things that truly matters at the end of the day? Because you're not going to get You know what I mean? It's even within my own party, I was gonna say, I mean, that's, it's, it's very impossible to do that. It's absolutely. But listen, man, we I have a You think I'm going to please No, it's great, but it's a great Listen, I got five kids. I can't even please five, five Let's talk about that. Yeah, just just making one What are we eating today? Oh my gosh. Right. Yeah. Listen, you make that a We're not going to eat. You know what I mean? Yeah. Somebody's gonna take charge You're gonna rule that garden, You know, that's what we're We're eating. Oh we're fasting. Yeah, yeah, we're gonna fast. Tonight. I'm going to teach you a lesson That's a common sense I'm That's it. Well, but that's it. You know, you can't um, you percent of the time possible. And you can try. Yeah. You know, and I actually attempt to tries fail attempts usually succeed. Right. So, um, that's what this is all Yeah. And I can't stress it enough have a very good church here. Yeah, we have a lot of good I love taking it all in. I tend to sit in the back and I, Yeah. And, um, I just love seeing Yeah. And I love seeing that. I actually, even at the end of I'll, I'll watch my, my in-laws it's a beautiful thing that, and, um, it's, you know, we got That's the glue of life that's Yeah. Knowing that we're all here for Amen. Um, and knowing that when you and you don't have to be a right and what's wrong. And it's now everybody serves a Yeah. Everybody serves a purpose in this fight to restore common sense. Yeah. Um, transparency. Accountability has the buzzwords now, but everybody has a seat at the table. Trump is our employee. He works for me. And you, you know, and. Well, don't tell him I said that Right. But, uh. So you're fired. You're fired me somehow, you know, but but but that's how it goes. Like. And, you know, like politics. Yeah, it could be ugly. It could be boring. It's part of our life now. Yeah. It is, whether you know it or One hundred percent. And that's why. That's why we're here in this Because first of all, I've told I'm gonna say it again. I've. I've been inspired to see you It is a calling. Thank you. And it goes. There's a lot that goes into it. And you pray that everyone embraces the calling, whatever that is for them, because we all have our own calling, um, in life. But I think that to me is when you also you feel the most alive man. Yeah. You know, I'm sure you're tired man, I don't know how you are actually going after something I'll tell you again, like I said Um, what, a couple days ago? Yeah, I there's, there have been listened to that too, and I you what my, my late cousin And, and actually, in our last he said, trust the process. He would always say that he Just trust the process. Yeah. Do the right thing, you know. And that's why he lived a good But you got to trust the But I've seen there have been so Me sitting here, you reaching Just even last week, we hadn't know, and, um, and it was just Yeah. There's something here. There's something bigger than Yeah. And I'm going to respect it and and I'm going to let it lead. Yeah. That's what you gotta do. You gotta let it lead. It's gotta pull me where I need Yeah. Um, whether it's in this state Yeah. Um, I have a mission. That's it. My life. I don't know when the ticket's gonna get punched and I hop on that train. I can tell you I'm gonna be forty three next week, next month. And, uh, you know, I my wife's gonna hate hearing this, but I don't know if I have forty three more years. Right? We don't know. I've eaten a little too much So I'm not I don't eat the I'm a skinny guy, you know? I mean, she'll be the first to these other things. But anyway, and, uh, you know, but, um, I don't know how long I have. And Justin, my best friend, He didn't think he was gonna not I talked to him a couple hours before he passed, you know, and, um, he was supposed to come and see his godchild and my my kids for their first day of school on August thirtieth of twenty twenty three. And, you know, my last text And it wasn't even like anything Yeah. It was actually, we were talking Poor guy. Had some bad luck all the time out there that knows him know he But he always had a positive Yeah. He was always there for you. Yeah. He never gave up. That's what you gotta do. You gotta, you gotta like I, I, happened in my life. There are reasons why they've Yeah. Everything happens for a reason. We've heard that right. Don't get desensitized to that. Yeah. So good.
